Most of our patients experience plantar fasciitis as a stabbing pain in the heel of one of their feet. It often happens at the beginning of the day, and then it fades with the first few steps they take. Less commonly, patients experience other symptoms:
- Pain at the bottom of their heel or in an arch
- Pain that becomes worse after standing or walking
- Pain that increases over several months
- Pain after being off their feet for a while, such as getting out of bed, sitting for a long time, or after a long car ride
- Pain during or after running
- Pain that appears, subsides, and then returns after a long period of standing or walking
